Lunar Photograph by Warren De La Rue (1815-1889), in original binding, published by R&J Beck of London. Warren de la Rue was a scientist, industrialist and inventor. He had an interest in photography, and in 1853, De La Rue attempted to photograph the moon; four years later he made stereographs of it. He visited Spain to view a total solar eclipse on July 18, 1860, and he photographed the event. The left negative made on August 12, 1862 and the right negative, October 3, 1860.

Condition: Cover glass is broken. Image glass is good, image contrast is good, binding has fading and wear.

He had an interest in photography, and in 1853, De La Rue attempted to photograph the moon; four years later he made stereographs of it. He visited Spain to view a total solar eclipse on July 18, 1860, and he photographed the event. The left negative was made on February 27, 1858 and the right negative on September 11, 1860

Condition: Cover glass is cracked, image glass is good and complete. Binding has wear.
