Lunar Photograph by Warren De La Rue (1815-1889), in original binding, published by R&J Beck of London. Warren de la Rue was a scientist, industrialist and inventor. He had an interest in photography, and in 1853, De La Rue attempted to photograph the moon; four years later he made stereographs of it. He visited Spain to view a total solar eclipse on July 18, 1860, and he photographed the event. The left negative made on August 12, 1862 and the right negative, October 3, 1860.
Condition: Cover glass is broken. Image glass is good, image contrast is good, binding has fading and wear.
